How ECU tuning works on a diesel Renault Kangoo
On a diesel the ECU decides how much fuel is injected and how hard the turbo works. A remap adjusts those calibrations within safe limits, so the gains show up mainly as extra torque low in the rev range and smoother, more responsive pull.
How the Renault Kangoo 1.9 DTI 84 compares
Of the 5 diesel Kangoo engines in our data, this one comes 1st for power gain, which is 1 bhp above the Kangoo diesel average of 26 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average diesel remap adds 34 bhp and 73 Nm, so this engine's 27 bhp and 60 Nm sits below that benchmark.
